About the Film
When World War II ended in 1945, America and most returning veterans wanted to put the war behind them and move on with their lives. Almost sixty years later, we realized that as a country we had not properly thanked the veterans for their sacrifice and service, and what that means for the freedoms we still enjoy to this day. Now, thanks to the Honor Flight program, they can finally get the recognition they deserve. Follow the May 2014 South Willamette Valley Honor Flight, as they journey to Washington D.C., see the World War 2 memorial and experience moments of gratitude and honor that will change their lives forever.
This 90 minute documentary film provides an overview of the War, and tells the stories of several veterans from the Southern Willamette Valley area of Oregon. It then follows these veterans on their Honor Flight, capturing the events, and emotions unique to this trip. Please help us get additional World War II veterans on an Honor Flight before it is too late, by making a donation to the organization, or purchasing a copy of this film on DVD.
